== SOLVED == info needed to read an 27c1024 plcc44

Hopefully someone can help me with a small problem i face.

Since i am completely new to willem programmers i gathered info first , and thank ezo for his support , but.............

I am trying to read an 27c1024 plcc44 chip , but cannot get info.

i have a working willem , dip40 adapter board , and an plcc to dip40 adapter .

i have verified the willem by programming several eproms ( 27c256 , 512 ) , by flashing some 49lf004a , by resetting and programming an 29ee010 , and by reading and programming several 27c4096 on the dip40 adapter board.
All these tests worked out okay.

However when i insert the plcc44 to dip 40 adapter with the 27c1024 chip , the willem indicates it is empty.
A test of the same WITHOUT the plcc44todip40-adapter ( and chip ) showed me the same result ( willem responds with chip is empty message ) .

Can anyone please shine a light on this problem as reading the 27c1024 is the only reason i bought all kit.

1) Here is no difference in 27C4096 and 27C1024 process with 40pin 16bit eprom adapter , Willem HW/SW. I recomend clean PLCC chip pins sideward softly , recheck chip contacts through adapters, check chip from bottom for corner pin status, try to move chip in socket (lift up a bit).
2) Get 27C1024 datasheet with dip40 and plcc44 connection diagram . Check PLCC44 to DIP40 adapter pins connections according 27C1024 . Some adapters, for example PLCC44 to DIP40 for MCU PIC or AVR MCS-51 have different connections, NC pins in PLCC44 are different .

I verified the plcc to dip adapter , and found the following ;

Dip pin 11, 30 ( gnd ) was NOT connected to Plcc44 pin 12 , 34 ( gnd ) .
and infact , dip pin 30 ( gnd ) was connected to plcc pin 33 ( nc ) .

This ofcourse rendering the plcc 27c1024 without power.


After modifying the plcc adapter , EUREKA it worked

Next job will be programming an atmel atmega32 with the isp adapter cable ( i need to make that one ).

Atmega32 not supported via isp adapter cable.
Extra oscillator and connection to 25xxx socket required.
