"stanson s29al016d70tf10". this is the first time in my life that i will program an eprom! so i would like to have your help! this is my programmer with some adapters:

Yes , 8/16 bit base is right one. Seems a bit overpriced.

thanks ezo i've bought the adapter from sivava...i've bought also the tsop32 adapter! so when the adapter arrive, what eeprom should i select from the program? how can understand how to mount the tsop32/40/48 adapter into the tsop48 adapter and the into the programmer?

Chip placed OK. Clean chip pins from extra solder and flux, apply cleaner. Be sure all pins are straight. Check pins placing in socket accurately , apply magnifier. Sometimes chip body has shift space in socket.
Adapter - here is one jumper. Chip has 3.3V voltage. Remove only one jumper - Open 3.6V on adapter or on programmer board.
Cable between adapter and programmer looks OK
Programmer. Your dipswitch panel settings in picture are wrong. Open SW, select device 3.3V 8/16 bit 29LV160 (device list in bottom). Follow dipswitch settings from SW frame (ON 2-3-5-6-8-10-12).
SW. Apply SW 0.98d12c3 with programmer mode jumpers in pcb50mode. Or apply 0.97ja with programmer mode jumpers in pcb3b mode.
LPT cable . Apple extension cable, max lenght 1.8m
Power supply . Apply USB cable or external power ~9V. Select voltage jumper .
Connect 1) programmer to PC with LPT cable 2) power cable 3) run SW 4) select 3.3V 29LV160 5) place chip in adapter
First SW action > Get ID. Expect reply 0x01 AMD 0xC4 or 0x49 AM29LV160T or B. Your chip name not full name , type difference here ...D70TFI01 or D70TFI02.
Wrong reply recheck all. Without ID read result non reliable, erase and write non working.

No, 2MB equal to 16Mbit , 1Byte=8bits

A20 problem

Cable between adapter and programmer looks OK

Sorry , it is wrong
1pin adapter - corner pin, 1 pin programmer - top .
A19 was ok, because programmer pin second from both sides in line(2 and 7)
Change cable position.
Once again - get ID, erase, blank check, load file , write, verify

your programmer/adapter picture shows cable position
