Hello Guys,
through my experiences with this forum I am on the road to ask again for help:-) (Thanks for every ones help)
My newest Problem is to "connect" a W25X80 SOIC Chip to my Willem PCB5a. I haven´t found a useful adapter between the items I get with the willem (only a small ICSP Circuit for 24XXX and 93XXX) My question now is how do I connect the Chip to the Willem PCB. My first try was to wire the Chip and stick it ends in the 25C80 Port, but it doesn´t work so as I want. Through my Web research I found out that these Chips are burnt in/with ZIF Sockets.
My Question is also, how do I connect the 8 Pin Chip to the 32 Pin ZIF on my Willem. What do I have to be aware of? Please help me with this Task and help reanimate my Laptop;-) The Chip inherit it´s bios.
greetings

Yes, you have to connect/place to/in 25Cxx 8pin socket. My question now is how do I connect the Chip to the Willem PCB. My first try was to wire the Chip and stick it ends in the 25C80 Port
Programmer should be modified to support 3.6V on serial devices....but it doesn´t work so as I want.
Latest programmers (pcb5.0 from Sivava, ...) are OK, yours version unknown.
Remove jumper (Open 3.6V), go Test H/W, activate 32-Vcc , and measure voltage on pin 8 (socket 25Cxx)
Not possible on willem programmers. What link do you refer ?Through my Web research I found out that these Chips are burnt in/with ZIF Sockets.

Re: W25X80VSIG connect Issue...
Hello,
I use the sivava PCB 50a I think it´s the latest. I have connected the pins with the Chip, but when
I try to read I get only "FF 00 FF 00 FF 00 FF 00 ...." And when I try to write to the Chip I get an
Chip = 0xFF buffer = 0x21 Error at 0x00000000 .
I have selected the Device with the Name "25x080" and removed the Jumper to have only 3.7V to work with.
I measure 3,658V when I hit the Checkbox under H/W Test and when I deactivate it 2.627V. Is this okay?
Is the Chip broken or are these readings normal? Something isn´t okay about this Chip because a few Days earlier I could read some Information out of him.
May I ask for your opinion?
greetings

Re: W25X80VSIG connect Issue...
Hello there,
thank you for your help till now. I have measured the Socket a second time and I get only a reading on Pin 5 with 4,371V No other Pin has voltage on it. Is that okay? I don´t believe it-___-"
Maybe I measure wrong, but Ground should always be Pin 4, right? Maybe you can now pinpoint the problem why my willem makes my live so hard.
In the meantime I get an SOIC8 to DIL8 Adapter in which I can plug in the Chip, but results doesn´t change. I buyed it to overcome the feeling that my solder skills are worse^^ But hopefully they aren´t.
