willem pcb50 programmer erased 93lc86 ???

just bought this programmer to read this one eprom 93lc86 microwire

tested hardware with usb power supply connected ,hardware tested fine

all dip switches set to off

inserted 93lc86 sioc on adapter board in correct socket to read contents
programmer status was chip read succesfully ,except dump was all ff ff ff

eprom is now corrupt

lost all data from chip

cannot write to eprom

when eprom was removed programmer still reported eprom read correctly ?

software used 0.98d9

have a new eprom and dump to try again but unsure to try it

Chip cannot be erased by read action.
What chip exactly you have ? Here is differencies in organisation (x8, x16).
Details you can find in chip database.
Programmer support only one mode by default, no jumper for pin 6-ORG to switch (log0/log1) for different modes.

programmer programs chip in 8 bit pin 6 con ground / or 16 bit pin 6 nc and verifys as succesful

but when read buffer reads all ff ff ff

also cannot get device id from chip

using either 5v usb supply both vcc and vpp lit when programming
or using external 13v 1.2 a supply only vcc lit
