Hello guys,
At first, my English is very bad but i will try to explain my question in good English (coming from holland )
To begin the story, my grandpa gave me an old 386 computer. It was working but the cmos battery was empty so i soldered a new one on the motherbord, but i twisted the + and - so the bios was getting 3 volt but at the wrong polarity. After that the pc started but it began to beep (good sign, the bios is working) that the rtc was broken, the real time clock was broken and the pc would only beep So i want to buy a sivava willem eprom programmer to read the firmware from the semi defect bios chip and put it on a new, working bios chip so the pc would start up again
But... the eprom/bios chip is an very unknown one, a 23C512-5136. I do know that the programmer supports the 27C512, but would it support the 23C512-5136? I can't find anything about this chip on the ethernet....
Thanks for your answers.
Sivava willem programmer compatibility
Re: Sivava willem programmer compatibility
I suppose your chip is preprogrammed Mask ROM 23C512.
Expect 27C512 as programmable replacement with Sivava willem.
